Braunschweig: Westermann Druck
Westermann Druck was founded in 1845 by the famous Georg Westermann and the Westermann Gruppe’s head office is still located on Georg-Westermann-Allee. With around 230 employees, it is a full-service company for printing and pre-press services as well as electronic media such as e-books.
Westermann Druck’s equipment allows for a wide range of production, allowing us to offer digital printing and more. Machines in IIIB and VII machine format are available for sheet-fed offset printing, while a 16-page and 32-page machine is available for web offset printing. After printing, pages are processed to create periodicals, bound brochures and books. Each year, the printing company produces around five million books, 23.5 million brochures and 37 million periodicals.
he company not only produces school books but also specialises in the production of high-quality magazines and catalogues through web offset printing. Westermann Druck has also expanded its digital print portfolio and now offers new, target group-oriented services.
One of these services is the myPrints online printing company. Schools and other educational facilities can use myPrints to design and create individual printed items, such as school planners, in small quantities.
Zwickau: Westermann Druck Zwickau
Westermann Druck Zwickau joined the Westermann Gruppe in 1994. The fully integrated media service provider specialises in the economical production of high-quality books and brochures with various finishing options. The company has continued to adapt its organisational structure and technological capacities , to accommodate the ever-changing requirements of its customers. This is the result: networked and transparent processes for each individual production step. This enables us to fulfil our customers’ requirements on time, to optimal quality and with excellent depth of production and high product diversity.
Multiple state-of-the-art printing machines in 3B format, as well as highly modern, fully equipped finishing process facilities, allow for more than 13 million products to be produced each year. More than 160 employees are currently dedicated to keeping things moving for the customers of German and European publishing companies, as well as industrial and retail businesses. Westermann Druck Zwickau is certified to print products with the “Blue Angel” label and therefore meets the highest standards of sustainability and environmental protection.
Landau in der Pfalz: pva
Until 1998, the name stood for “Pfälzische Verlagsanstalt” (‘Palatinate publishing house’), but has since been renamed pva, Druck und Medien-Dienstleistungen GmbH. pva relocated to Landau in der Pfalz and is a renowned provider of print and media services. It was continuously geared towards the economical production of high-quality magazines and sophisticated catalogues which are flexibly tailored to meet customer needs. In addition to the pre-press, two 16-page rotations, 3b sheet-fed offset machines, adhesive binders and saddle stitch binders are available at the fully integrated company.
With its 150 employees, pva produces around 200 periodicals each year with a total circulation of more than 120 million copies. The company’s production depth allows numerous catalogues to be produced. Customers in Germany and neighbouring countries include publishing houses, governing bodies and companies in the retail, industrial and telecommunications sectors.
